Younger people going to Tennessee gambling clinic over betting issues
With the NCAA Tournament kicking into gear, there’s been an increase in sports betting and concern surrounding it.
Story continues belowPersonnel at East Tennessee State University’s (ETSU) gambling clinic say with the introduction of legal sports betting on cell phones, the clinic has seen more young people coming to the clinic for gambling issues. Young men and women alike have visited the clinic seeking help.
“I think there is perhaps more normative talking about sports wagering with younger kids because it’s now legal since they became 21,” said The Gambling Clinic director, Dr. Meredith Ginley.
The traditional brackets are now at people’s fingertips and that accessibility can be problematic for some, Ginley said.
